Pilot bearing too loose?
The pilot bearing for my clutch is spec'd to have a 20mm I.D., which is .787" ( I measured it at .785") however, the upgraded input shaft for my transmission has a pilot shaft O.D. of .755" leaving .030" of play. This seems loose, but I do not know what is considered normal. I know that it obviously can not be a press fit or you would never get the input shaft and bearing to line up when installing the trans.
Will .030" of clearance allow the input shaft to flex and lead to breakage?
