clearance for a 188/220

VE
If I have .046-.048 valve recession on the intake side of the head and .025-.026 piston protrusion, will I be ok to run the 188/220 with a .020 thicker head gasket?

Probably flying.
Call the office and talk to Ryan.

Iwas told .017 Piston protrusion with a stock gasket.

12v no more than .018" piston protrusion, at least .055" valve depth.
24v no more than .018" piston protrusion, at least .038" valve depth.
I'm assuming you are working on the 91.5 and that it is a 2 valve engine.

Your .026" piston protrusion is .008" over spec, your .046" valve depth is .009" under spec. For a total of .017" too little clearance.

A 3283339 +.020" head gasket will rectify the situation.for others reference, the 3283337 is +.010" and the 3283335 is std thickness. We will be open tomorrow. I apologize for any inconvenience. Also for future reference, we have a lot of really good data on our site. Under each product description http://www.hamiltoncams.com/18caca.html
