Torquezillion, a Camping World Truck built for Pikes Peak

Really liking the exhaust manifold/header.

Is the tubing stainless?? Where did you source the bends and the turbo flange and what wall thickness is that tubing?

I'm right at the point where I can go with the lighter weight tubing like yours. I will be supporting the turbo from the engine so rigidity isn't an issue. I am, however, a little concerned about the lighter wall tubing maintaining it's strength once heated to 1500*F. Now seeing your work and what you plan to do with it, my concerns are going away. We'll only be running for seconds v/s minutes. lol

Are you going to wrap that beautiful piece with heat wrap?

We stock them, otherwise, Vibrant Performance for everything fabrication related on this truck.

We probably will be wrapping it after initial testing, which will be a shame.

Mounting the primary charger. Because CG is important, I guess I'm gonna put it on the passenger floor. Maybe do a roof scoop for the air intake?? ??

Considering intercooling between stages. Anyone have any experience on this?? Would be a WAIC setup, probably positioned under the secondary charger, with this hoss leftover from our 2012 PPIHC NSX handling overall cooling.

Won't that be useless about 1/4 of the way up?
Not with massive amounts of ice, and then another equally massive radiator for the waic. Don't forget, this waic is tested at the Peak, and did REALLY ****ing well.

I didn't forget, I am just thinking the large diesel will go through lots more ice than the NSX...to which the weight considerations become problematic. I am assuming here and just thinking out loud, so to speak.

True. We didn't run ice on the NSX, so we know that 850hp was kept damn near ambient IATs.

That's a huge ****ing complement. Thank you. This is the baddest diesel site on the planet, so ????

Cody, I have always been highly impressed with the fabrication you guys turn out!!! Truly amazing work!!!

I would love to shoot Torquezillion for a feature article when it is done! Hopefully we can get together and get it in front of my Canon camera and lenses!

But then you plan to compress the air again in the secondary?

Seems best to run it after the secondary and that is what I was thinking at first, much hotter air at 100psi then 35.

Take a drive Chris, do an in progress and an after completed feature. Then one at PP.

Testing will tell I guess :) With another 16 months till the Peak, we have time.

Getting the engine build together now, keeping it simple. Rods, studs, fire ring and maybe a cam.
