First test run after some tuning

Before the fresh engine is finished i wanted to get a base line of what this piece will run.

After some tuning of the pump (thanks TurboMatt1 !!) Installed Ad165 with Joe Hellman's sump, 18.5*,5x.014, 5K, I finally got to go to the track and lay down shakedown runs to see what the truck will do. First pass the truck went a 13.07@108.31 with a 2.4 sec. 60' . Truck ran out of gear before I went through the traps (3.90:1 gears now, have a set of 3.55:1 I need to install). Last pass was a 12.864@114.23 with a 2.3 sec. 60' still running out of gear. Going to swap gears and see what happens.

It's great to see another truck out there competing! I'd be looking for chassis tweaks and see if the 60' times come down. Congrats!

How do you run out of gear at 108 mph and then run 114 mph? Are you implying that it starts to defuel around 108mph or are you just exceeding the peak power range of your setup so power starts to taper off.

5k springs and 3.90:1 with a .69 overdrive ratio should run well into the 150 mph range.

The first pass was not a full pass since i lifted at the end before the traps. (i lifted because i glanced at egt which was @1500 and didn't know how long it was there. Next pass i didn't lift because i realized egts were just steadily climbing and figured no big deal. Yes i have 5k gsp but engine doesn't see that rpm at all. Still have stock valve springs. Jimmy
 
114mph is 11's if that thing weighs under 7,000lbs


Actually, 114 mph is 11's in a 7300 lbs truck.....I've done it.

Back when I was chasing a power loss I ran 12.0x's @ 112 mph.....So if your lighter and at 114 mph, your gonna be in the 11.7 range I bet!!

i will be there on my bike again. i'm sure le is cool letting you try the sticks. we will have to come see ya this week
 
my 95 reg cab 2wd 5spd weights 6440 (i weight 145) with me in it and trac bars on.



Wow, your truck is a PIG!

My 95' 2wd auto weighed just under 5500 with me in it. I have performed a little bit of weight reduction like running one battery but probably not more than 200 lbs worth of stripping.
