Building a 518- would like to check overdrive clearence

I never have checked that on other builds- this is my 12th but I have always ran stock count and thickness in the od direct . This time around I have some thinner steels , same thickness frictions, same pressure plates. I stacked the stock stuff on the hub, placed it onto the bearing and pinion, measured the height of the clutch pack sticking up above the drum- .180 average , stacked the new stuff up - .350 average. I'm not sure what the spec is or where to measure from.

Just incase somebody is looking this up in the future- I adjusted the height of the overdrive hub by playing with the stack up height in the overdrive direct clutch pack .

Thicker clutch pack pits the hub further down in the overdrive case as measured wth a straight edge , thinner stack up puts the hub higher. I had to press it a couple times and change steels but t was worth the effort . It also made clearence for the overdrive brake clutch come out to .115" which is also a good number. I tossed the waved snap ring that sits on top of the flat ring for the overdrive brake clutch pack and doubled up the top steel to get my clearence back where I wanted it- firmer 3-4 shift

Raybestos gpz except the overdrive direct pack- oem style frictions there . It did come with thinner steels so that was nice to be able to play with the stack height. I do have a few different sizes of overdrive piston spacers and some .010" shims but I don't really like the shims that much.
