Yamaha diesel Rhino

Hey all. I'm having turbo troubles with my diesel rhino conversion. When the ambients are 30*F or colder, this thing is a beast. The warmer the ambients get, the worse it runs.

I obviously have the wrong size turbo for the summer. It is a Garrett GT1204. Same as the PPE diesel Polaris turbo kit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry about the images not displaying. I used photo bucket when I started and that was a mistake. Let me know if anyone wants to see some pics or vids.

Is it lacking fuel or what?
The first thing that comes to my mind is the hotter intake air temps with higher ambient temps.

OP, you may want to get in touch with Ryan at quadshopcustoms.com. He builds clutches for Polaris, can am and others. It may just be a clutching issue and the clutch is operating out of the turbo's sweet range. He aslo tunes ecms and mapping for these machines.

You are correct on the sweet spot. I like the clutching the way it is now. I just need a smaller turbo that will spool March through October.
