Best turbo choice

I'm looking for a few suggestions on which turbo to go with on my new setup.
Realistic goals are around 900 hp, single turbo, no larger than 75mm. The truck will be driven on the street, but I don't expect it to tow or anything like that. I know Lag will be a factor with any larger single, but want the best middle ground.

2004 Cummins 305/555 Nv5600
stock bottom end, with scheid drop in cam
stock head
t-4 manifold
aftermarket intercooler, and larger piping and intake
twin cp3
firepunk'd hp tuning
45lpm injectors

I currently have a box 475/83 1.0 t-4 that i ran a little on the truck with less fueling. It was a laggy turd. I also ran a precision 2.6 gt4294 on the truck years ago with big fuel and enjoyed it on the street. I'm looking to just use it as a cruiser, and the brush pull 2-3 times a year hince the 75mm limit. I have been looking at a fleece s475/87, or s471/87. Would it be work keeping the 475/83/1.0 and adding a wheel to it, or is the 87 turbine that much better. Also can get my hands on a garrett based precision 3x3.35 1.12 t-4 that was ran on a very competitive 3.0 common rail truck, I know the power it will support, but unsure how laggy it will be, or if it's over kill. If anyone has experience, or numbers that would be appreciated. I'm also not stuck on those choices, so throw out any and all suggestions

Going from a 83 to 87 turbine will cause more lag, but flow more in the upper rpms. You ought to talk to Weston and take his advice, I've seen where he's recommended a sxe472 and guys have been happy with.

I understand the 87 causing more lag, but i'm also concerned with drive pressures around 4500 rpms. I will explore the s472 sxe a little harder, have seen some mixed reviews, and wasn't sure if it would comfortably support 900+

The 72 being referred to isn't the sx-e, it's a cast 7+7 style wheel that happens to flow very similarly to the sx-e. (110lb/min).

I'm currently running a 72SXE 87 turbine and 1.10 T4. I had the .90 housing on there and it seemed to choke the turbo out when I was trying to stage. The 1.10 comes on faster when staging at the line. Also makes less boost cruising on the freeway at 80 compared to the .90

The cast 72 is a good choice for that level. The 72 with the 87 turbine is something we try to stock as well if Weston doesnt have stock.

personally id go larger on the injectors first and foremost. second there are lots of options out there, and unfortunately anything street single is going to lag at that power level, especially with a 5.9. I would surely go to an 87/.9 hot side if you want a borg charger.

I think I'm going to switch to 150% exergys. I have heard of an 06 hitting 1000 with them and 476sxe. I know it will be laffy, and will deal with it accordingly. Just want to keep it to a minimum. I may add some giggle gas later for street fun

I made over 1k with 200% s&s at 1800us, and a 476sxe 87 turbine in a 1.1 housing. There is a few of us out there with similar setups. My charger will be for sale in a few weeks....

Jewing3227 how Smokey is it on the street? Haze at idle, or constant driving down the road?

900 minimum, 1000 would be nice, but won't be super upset if it's 950ish
