My DIY yourself stuff never turns out like that... My catch would end up being a coffee can of your choice with a garden hose in it.

Thanks guys! I've done a lot of welding over the years, but I'm just now learning how to weld Aluminum. Things are coming around pretty fast but I don't weld enough to have ideal muscle control. I'm happy with the results so far. Today I added a bunch of fittings for the various systems and ordered an additional $250 in fittings to finish everything out.

Super legit. I always build them to be cheap and effective, but I'm pretty jealous of this setup! Did you make the cans, and what do the internals look like?

I used spent Calgas cylinders that I dug out of the dumpster at work. I've had them laying around for years, but my old AC dryer catch can was working fine so I never bothered to build anything else. I gave that can away to a friend so I finally had the motivation I needed to build something out of the old gas cylinders. If I was going to do it again I would just use 3.5" aluminum tubing. The gas cyliders are so thin that you can't just drill and tap the sides for the fittings.

I dont have any inside pictures but I will take some tomorrow. The catch can is just a can, no baffels yet. Not sure if I will add any or not. The CCV can is built like a simple cyclone.

I'd be happy to spend de monies on those! Also dig the location-tucked back in the corner of the engine bay but still accessible. Nice work man!

Here is a simple can I made for a friend today. It has a -12 AN fitting on it to accept a pushlock hose barb that will get plumbed into his OEM slobber tube. The weld across the top is for an angled internal baffel to direct any liquids down and away from the outlet on the top center. On top will be a standard K&N 1-3/8 valve cover breather. It will mount to the brake booster.

The inside of the "cyclone" CCV can. Just a simple baffle glued into the lid.

Where is the fresh air going to? I see you have lines coming from the top of the can. Did you plumb that into the intake?

DIY Catch Can System

One goes from the steering reservoir, one from the trans and t-case, and one from the radiator.
