Skim/no start help!!!

2008 6.7 G56 manual truck

Swapped in a 06-7 5.9 ECM (849CMB) with a fleece conversion harness (adapts the 6.7 C1 & C2 engine harnesses to use the 5.9 ecm)

Disassembled everything for head gasket/head work

Used a brand new 06-07 5.9 C1 harness (injector/engine controls) to get rid of all the clutter involved with the the fleece harness and 6.7 C1 harness

Long story short, everything is back together, went to crank it. Ran for 3 seconds then shut down, repeated this a few times. Now all it will do is crank. Chalking it up as a theft/skim module issue?? Never dealt with anything like this.

RP is more than adequate, lift pump pressure is there....key fob still locks and unlocks the truck. No security lights in the cab.

Any help at all would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!!

With other cars I've worked on, so I don't know if it's the same, you sometimes have to do a specific task with the key to disarm the PATS or theft system. With jeeps you can lock and unlock with the fob all day and it doesn't help but if you lock then unlock the hatch with the key it fixes it.
Try locking and unlocking with the key in the door itself with the alarm armed and if that doesn't work try with it already disarmed. Hope this helps

I found another procedure to try too.
1. Leave battery connected
2. Remove PCM/Skim fuse
3. Buckle drivers seatbelt
4. Insert key in ignition
5. Turn key to crank (engine will not crank) hold key in crank position until you hear two chimes.
6. Replace pcm/skin fuse

If those don't work. Try another key if you have one to see if it's the key losing its programming. It can happen sometimes if it goes near a magnet or something

Thanks for the reply

Where did you find that procedure? I'll definitely give it a try, nothing else to start with...

It was just online. Sounded like the kid writing it actually had a brain though which is hard to come by these days. Lol

Just have your tune flashed to eliminate the anti-theft.

When I try to communicate with the ecm via my autocal it gives me a few EFI Live error codes.

When I try to look up DTC's it gives me a $0280 (no communication with vehicle)

When I try to reflash in the tune it gives me a $0549

Not sure where to even start
