Maintaining an older backhoe.

I'm thinking about selling my my little tractor and buying larger one. It's a 2004 JD 310SG with around 4400 hours. Well maintained, no leaks, good tires. My question is how often should a limited use piece of equipment be fired up and ran to keep it up in good shape? I always fire up my little tractor at least once a week and work the hydraulics. Is that more often than needed?

Id think weekly is more than sufficient.
