Best Place for Reman Duramax
I have a local EMS place needing a 2009 chassis cab LMM engine replaced. Just trying to get 2 estimates together (factory crate engine and a Reman. Engine).
Any suggestions for a reputable place?

Blackwater engines from Virginia. Friend used one for his 4th gen and was happy with it.

For what it's worth... one of our blackwater engines dropped a valve.
We've never truly been 100% happy with their work.

Can they rebuild the one they have? Give Josh Harris a call (903) 963-4000, he may be able to help.

I will also state it was like 10k miles on the engine and it destroyed itself.
Had an ISB bend a couple pushrods. We never discovered if it was the customer (very hard on equipment) or the engine builders fault (parts failure based).

I believe Banks has a pretty good price on new long blocks.

Brand new long blocks from GM are about $7000 and come with a warranty.
Be damned if I'd do that personally but it might be a decent route for some folks.

I priced them a GM Longblock. My cost is $7450 I believe. It's going in an ambulance, so I don't want any extra liabilty
