From what I understand, the af cam takes some of the stress of the front of the crank to help keep it from snapping.

That is what I have read, I was just curious to see if anybody has seen power increases from a similar cam that was not order-altered.

I don't work there or anything, but it won't cause any confusion.

There is no power increase simply from the altered firing order that I have heard of. It is peace of mind for me.

So no valve reliefs for that cam?

She should run like a raped ape after the full build with big twins and bigger sticks are in!!

The empire stage 1 cam does not require valve reliefs.

Long story short...got home last night and worked on it through the night and got it all put together and installed. Here is the first start video...just went for a test drive and it is running great. I'll upload a bunch of pics later.

Built engine first start up.:

Great work.
My main goal is to make a high 10 second pass full weight/trim. I'll be sitting at probably 11.7's for a bit. Apparently I told the wife we could go to Hawaii this year..so unless I can find some insanely good deals on truck parts...

Little sound clip, the engine sounds gnarly. It is super deep and sounds so smooth in the upper rpm.

Lly duramax built motor:

Not very cold but here is a 40° start. 16:1 compression

Built motor 40° start:

Changed the oil yesterday, probably should have done it sooner but oh well, heard a few different ways people broke their engines in and decided I didnt want this oil in there for the full 500 miles like i had heard. Had 300 miles on it and thankfully it looks good, no metalics or anything floating around.

Got my new tune yesterday as well, it's as big as I wanted to go with these 30% injectors in hopes of not spraying outside of the oval bowl to much. Should be a solid 750+whp tune. Cant wait for the track to open. Other than that, the engine is running great. Had a chance to do some slightly colder starts the other day..26° sitting all night and it fires right up just like stock, it does smoke a little though after startup though.
