Best option to clean headlights

Ok so I need to clean my headlight lenses and I was wondering what has or hasn't worked for y'all or what you would recommend ....TIA

I will sand and buff them a few times before I just buy new ones.

Wet 400, 600, 1000, then wet 2000 pad on a DA.
Finish with compound on a foam pad with a polisher and a nice wax.

I hit them with a clear coat paint after.

Yep. Wet sand in steps, then clear coat.
Makes an old yellowed pair look brand new.

I’ve also added dish soap in the water with wet sand paper. I’ve never clear coated though. Seems like a good idea .
