Hagerstown EFI tuning class

Hey guys, we are going to host an EFI class in Hagerstown, MD July 30-31st 2011.

$250 Beginners class
$350 Advanced class
$450 To attend both classes

Instructed by Mike Meyer/MMLMM

EFI Live Beginners Class Sat July 30th

What you will learn:
• Reading tune from truck
• Use of the tuning tool
• Setting up FlashScan for logging, and additional parameters
• Use of the data logging/Scan tool
• Procedures for writing scripts, using scripts, and running scripts
• Adjusting tables, parameters and using the features to help do the calculations
• Basic fundamentals of tuning (Safe limits, making tables work with each other, etc.)
• Converting tunes into DSP2/5
• Flashing Modes
• Writing basic tunes (non race type tunes)
• Correcting tunes based on logs from scan tool
• Adjustments for Performance Parts
• Answering questions of students
• We will cover basic info for all engine codes (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM)

Everyone will walk away knowing how to write a basic safe tune for the Duramax.

What you will need:
• FlashScan V2
• Laptop
• Notepad

We will include drinks and lunch.
It will be from 8AM to Noon, 1 hour lunch, then 1PM to 3PM, a total of 6 hours with a aditional 2 hours answering 1 on 1 questions.
The cost will be $250 per student, and you must register and prepay by July 8th with a CC or MO.
Limited seats are available, so the sooner you save your seat the better.

The advanced class will be Sunday July 31st and we are still coming up with the details on the Advanced class.

PM me or call 702-737-7333 to register.

Add your name to the list if you want to attend, we will bring a few spare V2s for you guys to use if you dont have one. Please let us know if you need a V2.

From Mike: Hey guys.

The beginner class will be directed more toward the use of the V2, tune tool, and scan tool and what it can do for you. Basically how to use all the features of the V2, what all the tables in the tune tool mean and how they work together, and how to do real good data logging and apply it to your tunes. This is pretty beneficial for a guy that wants to learn everything about the software and hardware, yet looks overwhelming. The dodge guys will learn quite a bit in this class, as its not directed so much toward tuning and the tuning that is, is pretty general.

As for the Advanced class, this will be strictly Duramax. Some stuff may pertain to the Cummins as well, but not much. The advance class will be a lot of tuning info. This class will be for the guy that has thought about building tunes, or has tried adjusting tunes, but needs a little more direction. You will need to know the software and how it works, before taking this class or you will fall behind and not learn much. (I say that just for your info, some guys may grasp it easy, but trust me, there are quite a few that will be un-happy if they take this class without knowing the software). I would recommend taking the beginner class before this advanced class or study the software highly often.

I am putting some new curriculum together for the 2 class, making some changes that I have learned from teach other classes. Hopefully in the next couple days I can have something ironed out and ready to go.

As for where the class will be, is up to the interest. We have no issue doing the class here local with only a few students, but if we must travel, we MUST have plenty of students. Expenses are not cheap right now, nor is it easy to leave our business here in Las Vegas, while we are across the country, that all has to be factored in.

Address for the classroom is 110 Eastern Blvd N. Hagerstown MD 21740. The building is Community Rescue Service, a 911 Rescue Station. The main entrance is behind the building off of Conrad Ct. Pretty sure most Map quest and similar direction will bring you to the front of the building. I work a 24 hr shift there Friday July 29th so anyone needing/wanting help finding it or anything I will post my cell number up closer to the date. Its very easy to get to.

Here are a couple links to the Drag strip about 10-12 min from class as you can see in the first link is the schedule for the track and they are having a diesel class race Sat evening on July 30th

they run street cars quite a bit. How fast are you gonna run? They stick pretty tight to the rules. If you look at the link with the calendar they are having a $1 day on sunday which you pay the normal spectator fee to watch the race and them pay a $1 to run the track and get a time slip. If your truck is a purpose built "race truck" i would say it needs to be built as so. But your not required to have a cage until a certain speed, so if you not breaking in to the 10 sec 1/4 you will be fine.

Crazy how some tracks are strict..

Here in Vegas we can run all night as long as were on street tires and have a helmet/jacket. Last week i went 11.1 then 11.0 and they just waived and smiled. Wish i could get my rig out there but i know it wont happen. If Dmitri makes it down this Fri to the Midnight Mayhem races ill slick it up and go for a 10.7. Im about out of fuel with my 60% nozzles but being that i daily drive it i dont want to get pulled over for smoke.

Sounds like were going to have a fun time in MD

Bring it to MD man, you should break 10s at 30 ft above sea level!

The room we will be using has 12 tables available with 2 chairs at each table. If or when the class reaches 24 people we will not allow any more to attend.

Roughly 10 chairs are left for the first day and 14 chairs are left for the second day.
