A true test of any motor will be in a boat. A standard truck motor of 500,000 miles with close to 25,000 hours will survive "maybe" 10,000 hours in a boat...IMHO.

Why is that?
I'd think that a boat would be easier on the motor assuming you arent spinning it in an RPM range that is harmonically unsafe. The ISB's they use in boats turn 3200 all day long and last forever.....
