So I forgot to mention earlier, as we got to putting this truck together we realized that it had 4:10s, which wasn’t optimal for what we wanted to do. We really would prefer 3:73s or more. Well, remember the donor truck we got the trans from? Yea, well it had 3:54s… so insert that swap here.

As for wiring cleanup, I don’t have any really good pics to show what/how we did everything, but this is the highlights (from top to bottom)
Under the drivers door we ran a distribution block to run the main power to the accessories such as fuse box, relay panel, etc.
All wiring that would normally run under the wiper cowl is now inside the wiper cowl… including the ecm.
We made up a relay box/panel and put behind the seats to run all of his accessories off of such as trans fans, engine fans, lift pump, etc.
There is no longer a battery (or battery tray) in the engine bay, so we trimmed the fuse box and mounted it inside the fender for a clean simple look.

For the front suspension, we swapped the factory control arms for a set of non adjustable tubular style arms. Also, we cut/powdered the front coil and matched(ish) ride height in the rear… we actually plan to raise the rear ride height a tad to where the front sits now. As for shocks we did the same as the rear putting a set of QA-1 adjustable shocks.
Some of the classes we race in require upward facing exhaust, and we really didn’t want to do a hood stack or bed stack, so we put a 45° on the tip to finish it off.
And here is final ride height…

And here goes a final pic of the engine bay after we finished it up. It turned out super clean, and I’m more than satisfied with the final product.

We took the truck out to Diesel Truck Wars at Northeast Dragway and the very first pass ever went 6.85. After that we started blowing boots… but we were still stoked with the 6.8x on the very first rip ever!

After the event, we came back to find a ton of minor issues. All of which were boost or drive pressure related. We got most of them fixed over the following week. The next weekend was the last tnt of the year before the owner took the truck back to Florida, so we were pressed to try to get it down the track one last time.
This time the truck went a 6.65 on the first hit, but after that blew the boot again.

We have a game plan on what needs to be done to fix it. One of which is the 300k mile motor mounts are shot, and that’s not helping the situation any.. so Austin Doidge is sending us a set of his billet motor mounts. That, along with a couple other tweaks and the truck should be good to go.

One important thing to note is that we literally have not touched the pump at all. Everything is how it came from Seth. Currently, the truck is extremely smoky. We didn’t want to mess with anything until the issues on our end (boost leaks and things of the sort) were lined out. Once all of that is fixed, we plan to tune out what smoke is left.

Overall the truck is doing great tho. It drives amazing. One thing we were concerned about was spoolup with those chargers on the stock stall converter. Amazingly it will spool in literally 3 seconds. It’s very driver friendly, and an overall well rounded setup.

This winter some things will be changed like piping tweaks, motor mounts, pump tweaks, a roll bar, etc… then next year it will be back to try it all again. Hopes are to see what it will do in a perfect world scenario as it sits, then likely dial it back for 6.70 until the new engine is ready for it.

Since the truck went back to Florida, he did pick up a cowl hood for it… other than that it’s as it was when it left. I have this whole build on my YouTube channel. I’ll make a playlist and include a link to it for anyone who may be interested.

Yea we did the solid motor mounts first, I feel like the motor is rocking and “pulling” the boots off as opposed to blowing them off. He plans to put a bellow or vibrant setup on it this winter as well.
