KDP question
Can someone point me to a good write up on killer dowel pin repair?
I see some mention that the cam thrust retainer bolts also need to be retorqued... got no idea on how to do them.
Case bolts and KDP yes...

TDR always had good write ups on those types of things, I'd look there first.

Or if you pull the cover and its hanging out just pull the dowel and be done with it.

While the cover is off. Check all the gear housing bolts you can get to. The dowel is not the only thing that has come out and made a mess in my experience.

Yep, the bolts are worse than the dowel pin. Sometimes the dowel pin just rolls over the gears and into the pan. I've seen the gears grab the the bolts and break some serious stuff, not just the gear case.

Wouldn't do that . It needs to be in there for alignment purposes.

Yeah x2, if you ever have to take the case off, you'll wish that dowel was there...

Yes the bolt holes are not true enough to guarantee alignment. Always make sure there is a pin contained in the hole.
