5.9 Cummins Oil Pan

Hello Guys,

I did a lot of wrenching today on my 1948 Mack EF 24 Valve swap. My question is can I drop the pan and rotate is 180 degrees and change the sump pick up to the rear? This engine is out of a 1999 FL50 Freightliner. I would gain a ton of room if so.

Thanks,
Brent

Normal truck pans are rear sump. So you may have to find a truck pickup tube and pan. Highly doubt you can rotate them

You can probably trade the front sump for a rear one.

Yes you can rotate the pan and use a different pickup.
Pans used in Dodge pickups have a shorter sump than ones used in ind apps.
