Traction bar setup

How do you have hours set? Extend them out and just a bit of push or shorten and make them pull slightly? I assumed you wanted a slight push back but we all know what happens when you assume. I just got mine finished up and want to make sure they are ok.

99 dodge ext. cab long bed, daily driving and towing but have airbags.

I have mine set to "push" just a little. I also have air bags. I don't know that I'm doing it right, but it works for me.

Mine is just a small enough push to stop any rattle basically.
