1000+ hp VP44???

We´ve got our first Dieseltrucksleddpuller here in Sweden and he says on his website that his truck makes 1000-1200 hp.....
I thougt the VP trucks couldn´t make that amount of power. I´ve heard of Jetpilot making 800something and another guy makin 832 with a big shot of nitrous.

He has a homemade water/methsystem and a airshutoff.
Someone asked him on his website if he had a Dynosheet and got the answer that its hard to find a dyno for his 10bolt axle!!??
I have only seen adapters from 8 to 10bolts, and I´ve never heard of any of you that swapped to 10boltsaxels
Dyno´s are rolling roads, arent they? and duallyguys remove the outer wheels if they need..??
Am I totaly wrong here??

Well he could put a P7100 pump on the truck (12 valve mechanical pump) but I don't think you can make much above 800 with a vp pump, even the hot rod vp pump. I'd like to see his website and look at what he's got.

I'm just guessing here, but the drug laws are a lot more lenient over there aren't they? I think he's full of it myself, anyone with that kind of power would be willing to show a dyno sheet to prove it.

I'm gonna have to call BS on it simply because the VP44 can't flow the fuel needed to make that kind of power, I might be wrong, but it sounds like he is trying to blow some smoke up everybody's azz.

1. How is he claiming 1000hp if he cant find a dyno to do it? (alot of places over there use the dyno boxes that bolt to your lugs, not the rollers. and i doubt they even make an 8-lug adaptor for them, they are used alot on supras and other sports cars.)
2. VP44 cant flow that much fuel
3. not nearly enough smoke, noise, or power shown in his pulling videos
4. his truck is slow and doesnt not spin the STREET TIRES when pulling, 1,000hp would be able to spin MUD TIRES about 3 times faster and be going alot faster pulling the sled
5. Anyone who has a Banks high ram intake does not make 1,000hp or is even considered a BIG DOG
6. those twins are big, but not 1000hp big, you'd need to be in the Pro 52, Phat Bstard range for that kinda power
7. Even if he was CLOSE to 1000 on spray, the smoke should clear up and you'd hear that motor just take off when burning the gas. His truck does not do this.
8. My best guess is that truck is about 550-650hp...A LONG WAY from 1,000

good point on number 1 I think that might be what he is talking about when he says he cant find a dyno for the 10lug

Looks like Sweden's version of the "BIG BAD HYPE"!!!!

What a joke, 1000hp with a vp is BS. You can see in one photo he has the twins but definately no P-pump.

I think itīs BS too.
Iīve been on Dieselforums daily for three years now and always heard that the VP doesnīt support more than 800 something.... on drugs.
I just want to make sure...
I have recognized the smoke and wheels not spinnin too, and thats long way from the monsters Iīve seen at "yours" place.

What kind of axle with 10 bolt could he have swapped to?
Shouldnīt the Dana 80 be enough for some big numbers?
Even the D70 in his case

maybe someday someone will make the "stooooopid" version of the VP44 where the internals dont even resemble a stock pump...but it would cost thousands, and be an engineering feat to complete. not to mention that with the 3rd gens being big now, VP44 is outdated technology and nobody is gonna want to spend time building the parts for it. (kinda like nobody making an MLS headgasket for the 2nd gens, because there isnt enough market for motors that arent made anymore)

I couldn't see anyone wasting their time to try and perfect a VP for all out hp, it's kinda like the Edge Truck and the Dr.Performance truck who are both fueling box makers but yet both these race trucks have the ol trusty proven mech. P-pump.....

And with these new bigger psi CP3's this is the pump to work out the bugs and go build the power with.... they're just scratching the surface with these yet- give it time- in the meantime the tried and true P-pump rules the roost.

I agree RacinDuallie, VP technology is going out the door, but I got so fed up with electronics when I screwed around with my 24v, I will never own another electronic truck, even if common rail technology starts making as much power as the p-pumps do.
