Ad 165 2 fuel pressure won't adjust past 38

I did a search within this chapter and found a similar problem to mine, I can turn my regulator all the way in on my ad 165 2 that has under 2k miles and has brand new filters and the pressure won't go past 38psi at idle, something about the plunger setup when i first got it on and installed had it set right at 40 and went to adjust it up to 45 psi and set it then cranked it up and pressure dropped down to 30 psi so I re adjusted it and even all the way in it won't adjust past 38. Do you have a picture of how the adjustable pressure regulator is supposed to look? When I took mine out the adjustment screw and plunger came out but there was a spring still in the pump block. Idk if it broke or what I will take some pictures, I sent a email about 2 months ago with no reply so figured getting on here might help as I don't have time during the day to be on my phone.
