McCormick W12 or W14?

Guy I work with, his dad has this in the back of his auto shop in an old paint booth. Been there since sometime in the '80's. Looked at it a couple times, think it's really neat, but it's missing the tag, so I'm not sure what exactly it is. He's supposed to be getting me some pics but here's a few a snapped. Really just trying to figure out what it is.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size. if this casting number in the block is supposed to match the serial, I think it'd be a 1939 W14.

They are telling me that they were told it's an orchard tractor, but going of my pocket farmall guide, I don't think it's wide enough. My quick rough measurement was 45" wide at the front tires, and 95"-100" long.

Interesting tractor but I can't tell you what it is either. Are they selling it?

Maybe, said if I could figure out what it is, he'd gimme a price, buy I get the feeling he doesn't really want to, and it'll take a bit more than its probably worth to get it.

I had posted on a tractor site as well, and while I'd have to go look it up to see what it was, there's a feature on it the was only available on industrial models. Think it's the governor setup or something like that. Just missing the foot pedal. And I haven't been able to get a price on it yet either, I offered $500 as is with no luck.

I am tech dumb but I was looking thru eBay and I saw that tractor. If you search for International Fairway 12 there is a listing with pics that look just like that one

Here's the link to the other posting where they mention that the governor setup on it was only available on the industrial model, so that's pretty much what I've been going on.

A fairway 12 and an orchard 12 are the same size, only difference being more shielding for the O-12.

Let me take a look at ours, we have an I-12, Fairway 12, O-12, and the F-12.

Another one with a little different view.

That one does appear to be a 14 of some sort, be it an I-14, or a W-14.

Are you referring to the one I'm asking about when you say you think it's a 14? If so, what makes you say that? I had decided I thought it was a 12, due to it have the blow by tube on the front of the engine, and not the breather setup? Do you think I'm right or am I missing something?

It looks like it's got a wider hood like an F14, but with the pictures you have it's really hard to tell.

Oh, I wasn't aware the hoods were different. Guess I'll have to do some measuring.

I'm not an IH/McCormick expert, but We are thinking they are. I don't have any Unstyled 14's around here to check.
