I’m thinking one of the bores is scored or stuck plunger. Rack is extremely hard to move

Think I’ve got a stuck plunger/bore. So the piston/tappet that the spring loaded plunger rides on. All of the plungers go down with the piston/tappet except cylinder 1. Piston/tappet goes down but the plunger is up with the spring compressed.

Pulled lines and shot plenty of lube down the delivery valves.

Man, that's ugly in there. You know, the IP is not lubed by the engine oil. You have to change the oil in the pump, self contained.

Yep. I’m the mechanic of the family, but I was probably 9 when we got this rig so it hasn’t been under my care. I’d imagine it’s full of diesel fuel and varnish. Haven’t opened the view plug.

Also, I did spray a bunch of penetrate in there so I didn’t help it look any better for what it’s worth.

Pump rebuild is finished up at City Diesel. It was in fact stuck. Kind of upset I couldn’t watch.

Here’s to hoping this ol bitch talks back when we turn the key.
