Bad phone pic

Here you can see the fire system being finished up and some of the parachute frame work. Fuel cell feeds a FASS unit and you can see the fancy rear end suspension too! Almost time for a test drive down the highway

Very awesome build. Where you guys out of? Planning on running a healthy sway bar on the rear with the coil overs? May end up wanting to strap the suspension down with that much car wanting to move around if you get up towards 200mph.
Hoping the rain stops, the salt dries up and gets hard for Speedweek. Last pics I saw of the salt it's more suitable for jet boat racing than LSR.

Out of El Paso, TX. It has a pretty healthy track bar for the 4 link, car sits VERY low for the salt. almost all the suspension movement will be minimized for Bonneville runs.

It's showing no rain and above 100 degrees next week. Hope it clears up too

Needed to have the offset that far out for the hubs/tires/ fenders to clear. Plus, it was the cheapest option to make hubs and buy tires for the weight of the car vs making a whole wheel with everything we needed in a different size. Tires are $$$$

Update

Well since Bonneville is probably done for the year, we have decided to do all 3 El Mirage events in California. Better for us anyways so we can change the car setup in case something doesn't work or pass tech we aren't waiting a year to test again.

Lots of new info, so I'll try to make it short with pics.

Tires for racing came in. Had to send the dually wheels, hubs, and rotors together for balancing. Rated for 300+mph, 7000 lbs, shaved edges to prevent rolling over if car gets sideways.

Parachute came in, had to mount it as close to center of gravity. Built a cross-member right over the rearend to pull, center is about 2 inches forward of that point but the batteries are there and will be up against the back seat.

Update 2

Trans blanket order was easy, had a pattern that we sent in to have a blanket made for the gearvendors. Seems like no one had a need for it before...

Just love it when people get creative like this.

As for tuning, earlier in the thread, IdahoRob chimed in with an offer to help. You honestly cant go wrong with him.

Update 3

Also, BIG thanks to Adrenaline Truck Performance and Rob for helping with tuning. Car has a DSP5 tune with trans that really woke it up! Runs smoother, no jerking, tons more power. Even on the 300hp "Stock" tune, the car rips and is fun to drive.

On a quick run, rpms at 2500, 5th gear, TC locked, gearvendors NOT engaged, 125 mph was like driving to the grocery store. Butter smooth, no shaking, felt like 60 mph cruise set.

Ran into a problem with the gearvendors when engaged: Since we used a 4wd trans, the final output sensor usually goes into the transfercase, but was spliced into the gearvendors sensor. When engaged, codes for slipping 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear put the trans in limp mode and CEL came on. No slipping clutches or anything, just the signal didn't match with what the TCM was trying to read.

Had to have a box convert the signal 22% more to match and not put the Allison into limp mode. Works great, test drive proved it works after 5th gear. I'll try other gears later, but we wanna go FAST!

El Mirage is this Weekend for September, going with the goals to pass tech and hopefully get liscensed. Car should be around 160-170 mph this time out. If all goes well, double overdrive engaged, max effort tune, math puts it at about 220 mph if it all stays together.

Guess we'll see shortly! Sorry bout the long updates/posts

Good meeting you guys! Get it to go faster than 133mph? I still think you can sustain 3500rpm no problem.
