head differences

Can someone give a break down on the heads from 89 to 96 any major changes? Which is best? Can you use a 91 on a 96?

Some of the early models had a 9mm injector tip. The later models had 7mm but Cummins makes a sealing washer with a bushing to run 7mm injectors. That's the only difference I know of.

There are also some bolt holes not machined the same. I put a late model 12v head on an old non ic engine and had to drill and tap a couple of bolt holes.
