My name is Will, I'm from southeast Texas. Some of y'all probably know me from over on Cummins Forum; I've been a member there since 2011. (same user name)
I've done some reading on here off and on, and thought I'd make an account.
I'm 21, and do fleet service for a local construction company here in town.
I help out my dad with our small cattle herd; currently running about 30 head.
We've got a '98.5 2WD dually, 5 speed. It's got 101,000 miles, and pulls hay to the house, and cows to the auction, and my truck when it breaks down.
I've got a '91.5 single cab 2WD, originally a Getrag, I swapped an NV4500. It's ugly, and needs a lot of work to make it "nice," but when I lean forward really hard, and hold my tongue just right, it should be making ~450 HP at the wheels.
Power adders consist of a 62/68/.7 SX-E that has already failed on me once, and some 81 LPM 6x.013's. All the usual pump work and supporting mods, P/S intercooler, 3" plumbing, 4" straight exhaust into some home brew 4" duals. Yeah, that's about it.
I did dyno it back when it had everything it has now, minus the big sticks and turbo. It made 282/692 with stock sticks and an HX35. I'll get it back on the dyno this fall. Gotta wait til it's cooler outside so I can hopefully break 400 whopping ponies.

It sucks.
I'm ready to move to a rural part of northeast Texas. I think I'd be happy there.

Thanks, and yes, it was covered. They contacted me after disassembly, wondering if the issue was on my end, whether it be a head issue, or some other means of oil getting into the turbine, because they found no flaws, or any parts out of spec on the unit. They even told me the seals looked good.
It was leaking out of the turbine and compressor, and I ran the truck without the turbo, just to verify there was not oil coming from the exhaust. I also made sure the feed and drain were clear, and flowing sufficiently, even though that is really irrelevant to the leak. (no bearing issues or shaft play in any direction)
I've been running the rebuilt unit for a week now, with no issues.
