05' lly glow plug light

hi everyone first time on here. how long should the glowplug light stay on when it is 12* F. mine only flashes on then off?

Is this when you're plugged in? Mine usually stays on maybe 5 seconds not plugged in and only flashes or doesn't come on at all if it's been plugged in all night. Does it start okay when the light only flashes? Or does it seem to struggle a little?

Probably fine, I have never plugged mine in and the glow plug light only lights up for maybe 1-2 sec and the truck fires right up.
 
If my LB7 has a glow plug light, which I'm sure it does, I've never waited on it and never had a hard start.
 
I have a 2005 lly and mine stays on for just a second at most. I had it at the dealer recently and asked the diesel mechanic there if that was right. He told me most of em he had seen did the same thing with a few staying on a little longer in REALLY cold weather.
