Mileage Increase
Gentleman i have 4.10s and they are killing me. Just wondering what others have done to increase their mileage. 05 dodge dually 4x4 with a 6 speed and 4.10s. Thinking about putting some 35s on it with bigger injectors and a smarty. Currently just have straight pipe and CAI. I get 16mpg wether i dog it or baby it 17to has been the best. 600 miles on a tank damn near all highway.

My 02 came with 4.10's from the factory and the first trip I took it on it got 20mpg!! Ever since then it has gone downhill, to the tune of about 16-18, even after switching to 3.55's. You dont have that option with AAM axle 3.73 or 4.10 and its not going to make that bit of a difference. I would say try a gearvendors but the last time I checked they wouldnt stand up to diesel torque numbers

Well there are companies that sell 3.73s for a 11.5 axel. One of my 24v buddies told me that it should drop my gear ratio if i plan on running 35 inch mud tires
. Just looking for more opinions.

I wouldn't complain about that mileage with a G56 AND 4.10's! I get 15.5-16.5 on average mix of driving. All highway all 55 mph has yielded me a best of 18.3 i believe. Once. I can get low 17's if I go 60-65 everywhere, all highway.
I have 3.73's, single rear wheels, short bed, 285's. You sure you have 4.10's? I run a good 2125+ at 70mph with the 285's.

Phil, just wait for EFI. I bet you'll be surprised at the increase.. Till then, keep clean filters, wax the paint and coast more often.
I was getting low to mid 16's with my 05 when I first bought it, deleted the cat and put a 30hp smarty tune on it. That bumped it a solid 1 mpg. I can pretty much bank on 17.3 mpg now. That's roughly 60 miles a day at 70% highway, keeping the speed in the 60-65mph range, running windows 3-4'' down and no a/c. I have 3.73's and 285's.

my 12v with nv4500 and 4.10's & 31's will get around 16mpg cruising 65-70. but I had some tune and leaky injector issues. with my current build I'm shooting for 18-20+ mpg at 70.
