Work Stock Diesel for 2013

Why the bumper rule? Keeps a lot of guys away. This class is geared towards daily driven diesels, many guys have the " Ranch Hand" bumpers cuz of the deer they have hit, not to stack weight in there. How hard is it to look for weight behind them?

What? What kind of BS is this?

You really want the guy next to you running 200# on the nose and you're not? Because that's exactly what will happen.

The bumper on your truck probably has nothing to do with it LOL

What's the point of the "stock-appearing" discussion when that is not what the posted rules state? Y'all read?

Gotta love WS!

Turbocharger:
The turbocharger is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM/Factory make-specific charger only. Internal modification of the OEM/Factory charger may result in disqualification.

What does that say

Internal modifications may result in qualifications. I do think they should remove the may.

Rick you will be ready to ax this class before the first hook. Stock appearing is kinda a joke with people building cheater chargers like what these guys are talking about. You would be alot better off and retain your hair with a smooth bore 2.5 with no bushing/step cover rule

THis i agree with^^^, WS truck will require turbo checking at every pull IMO, just the way it is, that could prove to be diffacult to, seeing how 2.6 had the chargers checked 3 times this year some illegels slipped through, some were even measured at the wrong location!......

turbos should be checked every pull, if you arent there in time to be teched...sorry about your luck...go home. JMO!

Big bumpers......who cares!

Seeing as how the hitcth rule is the same as 2.6, i guess that means draw bar hitches will be allowed in WS to......

You always a douche?

No, but I can read :hehe:

Apparently some of you guys can't put two sentences together in your minds at the same time.

The derail was fine, but the way the rule is written above, the only thing legal are bone stock chargers, and there is nothing to be interpreted.

If y'all want something different than that, come to the rules meeting.

The point is people using the cheetah style Turbo and getting away with it.

Agreed, but those would be internal mods, would they not...and DQ'd.

For the sake of everyone's sanity, 2.5" smooth bore is the way to go and dispense with techs trying to figure out if wheel A is different than wheel B and if either is different from stock on about what...a dozen different brands/models? I'm not seeing where that would be good for anything except a hell of a lot of frustration.

That being said, if they allow 2.5 smoothbore, the expensive modded turbos will win, and down the death spiral we go again, pretty soon they'll want hood stacks and weight boxes and big rear ends too.

Bone stock turbos would put the Fords and GM about neck in neck, with the Dodge behind a step. So even that doesn't get everything level, really.

I don't think the death of a class is spending big money on good parts once. Spending big money on parts($1300 axles, $400 ring and pinions) multiple times per season is an issue.

That being said, it seems this year has been a year for some trucks to be sold though.

Yeah we are on the same page there.

It would be nice to have everyone run a box charger with a cast wheel. I feel that would help but I'm sure everyone would cry about it. I like the idea of people really having to put a lot of time into tuning and chassis set up to to win. Not just dump a bunch of money into a charger.

A lot of guys is the street class last year were running stuff that wouldn't pass 2.6 rules.

If they don't put money in the turbo, they will put it into the cam, the dyno, changing tires around, etc, etc. Look into the trashiest gas truck pulling there is. If someone has money and wants to put it into it, you can try to write laws(oops I mean rules) to regulate(I mean prevent) folks from doing things.

Starting to seem like this is government, with all the regulations, etc.

Like Dan pointed out they "MAY" be dq'd

from phone

The "may" needs to be gone. That is too much of a gray area, either your DQ'd or your not for internal mods.

Me personally think a 2.5 bore is the way to go(not sure on the slick face if this is the lower level class). Definitely no clipped wheels in this class. The protrusion in the 2.6 class was a good compromise to pull HP back. Folks just found it lol.

And this we will never agree on. Protrusion was a half-measure that just wasted everyone's time and money to eventually get back to about the same point a year later. That meets my definition of "stupid".

But I still love you anyways Dan :1tooth:

OK, just to say something about WS, replace "may" with "will".
