I figure this should get some attention. i'll post up some detail when i'm more awake tomorrow! enjoy. :Cheer:

Once you get it done I'd be tempted to trade you my powerstroke straight across... I've been wanting to do that exact setup for a long long time.

No stroking for me. I had a 97 that was nothing but problems with that I traded straight up for 7.3 Idi to get away from electronics.

I've had the Bosch mw pump rebuilt and turned up to flow 75% over stock and the injectors opened and matched. I'm attempting to size up a turbo. Planning on going with a brand new ball bearing Garrett. My goal is 500 horsepower to the wheels. It's got a spicer 5 speed I'm getting rebuilt with od. Using a divorced 205, d60 front and a 10.25 rear. Going with 3.55 gears a lock right rear and Detroit front. Either running 33s or 35" tall tires. Front is on Chevy 3500 4" springs and the rear I'm going to go with Chevy spring hangers in the rear and 63" Chevy springs.

Planning on getting the cab dipped and ecoated working on finding a place to get it done. Mocking up the tcase in the frame and removing the old rear now. Thanks for checking it out. Stay tuned!

Oh and my main goal is its going to be daily driven, tow rig for my 6.9 diesel powered scout on 40s, and playing around at the local pulls.

You're building what I want to all the way down to axle ratios and everything, the only exception is that I'd be doing 5-links and airbags with a heavier rear axle just because I like to tow pretty heavy.

someone once told me the np205 wouldn't handle that kind of torque, don't know if it's true or not but do you know what the limits are for a np205?

Anyway I like what you're doing and look forward to seeing more.

Ill run helper bags for towing. I've heard of a guy pulling with a 70s ford with a HOT JD466 and if it was a super sticky he'd crack them. I have about 6 so if I start going through them ill go bigger....

got the old axle out, springs and hangers off.

thowing in some '85 chevy truck hangers and a set of '63 inch chevy one ton springs and then a 10.25 axle.

On the fence if i should bolt like a 1/4 or 3/16" piece of plate steel on the inside of the straight part of the frame to firm things up.... don't want it too stiff though...

Been doing some searching. Looks like some of the cummins engine mounts look like something as simple as a leaf spring bushing. Now for my mounts I just whipped up some flat plates and used a piece of 3/4 thick rubber as an isolator. I did this on my scout with the 6.9 and its been fine. But I think the 466 will shake a bit more than a 6.9. Has anyone ever used a fat polyurethane spring bushing as a mount? Figure it holds up the weight of a truck so a 2000 lb engine and trans should be no sweat. It also has a horse shoe mount in the front and I'm going to make one for the trans. The spring bushings will pretty much just hold it from twisting.

Transfer case beefing up time!

Finished with the brackets and 5/8" solid roundstock to stiffen it up!

Going to plate where the studs will go through and making plates that will bolt to the frame with ears that will go to the DOM tubing, spring bushings will go in it then i'll use an unbent axle u bolt or something to hold the tcase in!

Test fit. I can't go as high with it as I thought I could so i'm dropping it down a bit. Turns out the bracket is in the same place as the lowest part of the floor. No big deal, biggest pain is I have to rework my frame brackets a little bit.

Hard to tell in a picture but the driveshaft is going to have a very minimal angle!
