Balancer pin

Anyone have any tricks or tips to removing the pin from crank shaft to balancer? Mine broke while removing.

Grind, or file flush, use balancer to transfer punch a center, then re-drill the hole and run an appropriate pin.

It's not that critical to be accurate, despite what you'll be told.
ALL that pin does is get it so the large gap on the tone wheel is lined up on the crank in the proper place.
Nothing more.
You could run it without the pin, even.

I had one come to the shop broken along with the bolts
I was able to get it out by welding on the end of it, small tacks at a time until i built it up enough to weld a bolt to it
I then made a spacer that went over the bolt, then used a nut and threaded it down and it pulled the dowel out
Took a little finessing but worked
