Thinking of maybe swapping a 12v into the boat and need plenty of advice has mecruiser outdrive has a 454 in now 454 weighs like what 675-700 lbs Wats a 12v weigh

I think 12vers weigh in at 1100. Which outdrive? Need to watch the torque numbers against the drive and up the pitch of your prop to compensate for rpm loss. I like your thinking though.

I would say you may have to build a 4bt some to do that kind of duty. Plenty of torque but lack of hp and rpm.
