LML tree hugger vent

So, a few weeks ago I pulled my truck out of winter storage and the ole CEL light was on. Codes... NoX bank one along with 3 other codes. Since it is still under warranty, off to the dealer. Got it back 2 days later, drove it 100 miles and then the DEF light and the CEL came on with a really pissed off message in the DIC. Took it back to the dealer to have them replace the DEF tank at the tune of $800. Warranty of course. The truck went in for the same crap last year and they couldn't fix anything. It's running good now, knock on wood, and appears I'm getting about 2mpg better. The next time this tree hugger crap fails and its out of warranty, I hope I can still find delete kits and tunes for it.
Sorry for the rant, but I really am sick of the bunny lovers out there.

Maybe you should just buy all the parts now and keep them on a shelf for that rainy day..

Yeah, I should get of my wallet and buy the stuff and hang on to it until it really pisses me off. And see if I can get a tune from Kory Willis and put it on a thumb drive for that rainy day project.

How long did the truck sit? DEF likes to crystallize.

It prolly sat for about a week and a half before xmas and the CEL light came on before it sat. I fired it up a few days after xmas to detail it and put it away for the winter. It sat from xmas till mid to late April when I pulled it out. I cleared the code, and that lasted about a day and it came back on. The dealer fixed it and 100 miles later the DEF and CEL light came back on so that's when the changed out the tank. It had a full tank of DEF fluid so we'll see how long this lasts. It'd be interesting to see if not only if they filled it back to full, but did they fill it with new stuff the stuff that was in my old tank. Hmmmmm.....

Btw, the CEL light came on in Janurary of 2013. I had to take a quick road trip to Utica, NY and back. I had like 50 miles on it when it came on. I didn't care, I didn't have time to stop and within a couple hundred miles it went off. When I got back I took it to he dealer and since the CEL light wasn't on all they could do was clear the code. I thought that was a bunch of crap, but.... 2 years later they were doing the inevitable.

Well, I was right. Those bastards didn't even fill it up with DEF fluid. I got prolly 300 miles on it since the def tank replacement and the notice comes on 1194 miles till empty on the DEF fluid.
