Am I spying in the pics that the brake pads are on incorrectly? Looks like both pads are on one side of rotor??? Look at last pic and zoom in. Yep both pads on one side of rotor.........

Build update: Pinion brake works great for holding the truck with a little help from the wheel brakes. At some point I might try softer pads or add a second caliper so I can stage on the pinion brake alone. Converter was too tight, was having a very hard and slow time getting the truck staged and I also couldn't add any timing/fuel because of the staging issues. Sent the converter to have the stall raised 400rpm and also installed an external wastegate on the manifold. Was still seeing 90psi boost to 140psi drive pressure with the 472sxe on the manifold.

What did the pinion brake end up costing overall? I need something better for mine. On a sticky track I can hold 20psi but street I’m good to hold 13-15

Probably around $400-450 in parts and materials plus a decent bit of work.

Plus send me the axle.....Honestly though, I would like to get mine tested and proven with solid 60' times and maybe a wheelie or two before I make one for anybody else.

Haha I was just curious on it. It turned out good! I’m sure it will work just fine. I’ve been debating on dual rear calipers.

Quick update, I did some internal mods to my injectors. Added more pintle lift removed edge filters. Also added a stronger spring to my afc (full travel at 60psi boost) and increased rack travel to full rack. ran 3 passes at 10.9x with garbage 60' times (1.8-1.9) and two passes with 133mph trap speed. Truck was spinning into 3rd gear. Ordered a set of 32x13 slicks. Plan to race again this weekend. Ran both 133mph passes with wastegate all the way open starting in 2nd gear. running 72-75 psi total boost and 108* ait at end of run. approx 1700* egt at big end. Big improvement in power and lower temperature from the added fuel.
