Factory Lift pump rpm and HP limits on a 160 pump

Just soliciting thoughts before I pick a cam with or without a the transfer/lift pump lobe.

A few OG's have been over 700hp with 160 pumps. I believe Ponci's truck did 700+ never off the truck. I can't say what RPM

Pretty sure Ron Allen did 1200 on a factory lift pump when he forgot to kick his electric pump on.

I don't have a factory lift pump but I'm around 1k hp according to weight and track times with a Ferrell built 160 pump.

What are the track times?
Back in the day Matt Wells ran 11.40's with a 300k mile 160 pump, stock lift pump but with a Holley blue pump spliced inline feeding it pressure.

Not sure why anyone would want to run a stock lift pump past 600 hp ,the piston lift pump check valves aren't efficient . Watch the fuel pressure anything less than 30 psi is costing HP

This was in like 2004. Before airdog's or anything else really. Back when Garmon was one of the early pioneers.

I have a Non-Benched 160 running 11.47 currently. 362/75 compounds, 5x.018s, 4ks, and .024's.

Since then we have changed to 5x.022s, .093 lines and open holders, Pro street DV springs and 464/ 482 compounds. truck hasnt been ran yet.

I'm using a Fass with keating Check valves on the IP Return and Fass Return...

Picked up 35 hp with an AirDog over a stocker. Free cheap(ish) HP on the table. Going to try Power Driven Diesel's Hot Rod lift pump in a couple days on the dyno. Should be interesting.

I have a 180 pump, but I have gone 10.50 at 132 with a stock lift pump fed by a cheap electric pusher pump. Made 840 on the dyno. Been planning on upgrading the fuel system but just been pushing it off since it seems to be working alright.

I'm very interested in that pump. That or the big belt driven mechanical pump.

I've heard guys are using a comp cams valve spring to replace the stock spring to solve that problem. If you search on here you can find the part number. Look up Jeffery Weeks thread, he went that route and it helped. I beleive he ran some low 11's with that setup.

Was that on the stock P-Pump lift pump or the Hot-rodded Power Driven Diesel one?

Stock lift pump
I believe he went to a larger feed line and maybe a separate filter? I can't remember exactly.

Look his build thread up on the truck. I can't remember what he titled it, but user name JefferyWeeks

Good luck so far with the PDD pump here. Truck already had an adjustable ofv when I bought it, and the injection pump isn't modded much, but I am running big injectors (5x18) fuel pressure maintained 40psi at 3,000rpm no problem. Has crazy pressure on the pump rod though, kind of hard to install.
