05 Duramax sounds like cummins

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, my buddy has a 05 Duramax with stage two intake and the Edge on it. He was on the way home from work this a.m. and hered a big pop, now he has no power and the truck is really lout like a Cummins. Anyone have any ideas? Its not smoking or anything. He can barely do 40 mph with the peddle to the floor.

does it rev really slow?

not sure about the pop, but usually it's an injector harness issue. do a search for icepick fix. there are problems with the injector harnesses loosing signal and it cuts power causing them to sound like an old benz.
 
Yeah he took it to the dealer, at first they said it was a injector, then thay called him and said it was the harness. He ordered a new one.
He also wants to put in new injectors does anyone no a good place to get some? Thanks for your help guys.
 
New injectors for performance or repair? He can't run .40 over injectors or close w/o EFI to tune for them. He for sure can't take advantage of them with an edge box
