Go big or go home
Looking at buying a 67 Comfort King 930. It will only be a play toy and rarely see a plow. Anybody ever built a puller out of these old fellas? Anything to look for when i go check it out?
 
Good reliable tractors. They do make decent pullers but are heavy and need major weight reduction to be competitive at power levels. Big cubic inch motors can make big powa. I have a friend that has farmed hard with one but cracked the block, not normal though.
 
Thank ya for the info. I dought it would ever be a serious competitor. Just something to play with at the local pulls. Maybe pull a batwing every once in a while.
 
No problem. It would do a bat wing no problem. They do like boost hehe local puller put a he351 on a 1030 and man does it run good.
 
I was wondering about that. Found somewhere it was around 18:1 compression and figured it could handle a little boost.
