New transmission squeal at startup.

Got my 48re finished and put in today. First startup loud squeal when it fires up. I dont see why it would be coming from the transmission, maybe the new flexplate? I looped the cooler supply and return around to test it since I don't have a cooler yet.

Also pouring fluid out the pan gasket since I used the original pan and its beat to ****, not really a problem though. Just worried about the squeal.

Was the converter new? Did you add some fluid to it before install?
Does it do it every 1st crank, or just the initial?

It's new and I did add fluid before. Sounds like the starter it does it every time and you can hear it really spinning

Noise is only made when cranking the engine over? If so I’d look closer at your flex plate and starter bindex. Might need to shim your starter housing to the adapter plate for proper gear mesh or alignment.

Click the image to open in full size.

Starter was engaging too deep, loosened the bolts and moved it out a hair, as far as I could. No more squeal. Yikes that had me worried.
