48re Ebay forward clutch drum

Dropped my input shaft and forward clutch together off the vise tonight. Cracked the drum shaft is fine. New drum on Ebay is 75 or 400 for a billet drum, 250 for aluminum.

About to get it overnighted on Monday. Should I bother or just get an aluminum one. I can weld it but from the looks of it its balanced and probably wont turn out straight again if welding cast will even hold it.

Not a tranny expert, but I wouldn't weld anything that spins strictly due to balance.

I would ask a local trans shop, these are very common parts and most shops have core parts laying around. Do not weld it.

Local shop sold me one cheap. They were real helpful with finding the case fittings and selective snap rings to set clutch clearances also.
