Can the straight flange t4 with external gate be used in compounds or will the primary not clear the secondary?

Yes it can! I just built a set using a he431vTi secondary and s400 primary, 3rd gen. I had to move the battery though because the top charger hangs closer to the fender then with a 2nd gen style manifold. Got mine from Taylor, (tmoneydiesel) great person to deal with!! Steve D
