I had a Maryland Performance Diesel valve cover laying around that I threw on. It, along with the powdered rocker box, definitely set off the top half of the engine.

Here goes the new air setup! My buddy Jake at Sloshfab knocked it out of the park on this one. It’s a Forced Inductions V4 76/96 1.15 t6 on a Steed Speed Competition manifold.

I knew I didn’t want to run a catch can...or the stock valve cover. So I came up with this... I didn’t take any pics of the bungs but I stole these pics from JP Liberts thread... I basically did the same thing.

I hated the way the AC components look, so my buddy Kevin at Full Send Diesel set me up with his Dryer Relocation kit.

After first startup I noticed oil leaking from the downpipe. I pulled everything apart again and found oil leaking all out of the seals on the turbo. After making calls and trying to figure out why the heck my brand new charger was dumping oil, I realized I had two plastic caps on my ccv fittings to make sure nothing fell in the valve cover while working on the truck. It was building pressure and not allowing the drain to do its job.

I cleaned everything up, reinstalled, pulled off the caps, and amazingly everything went to working correctly lol duh...

I ended up getting Kevin to make me up a heater hose kit, as well as some braided hoses for my ccv. Everything was really good quality and fit as it should.

I drove the truck for about 500 miles to make sure everything was working as it should. The truck drove the T6 turbo amazingly well to be on stock injectors. I could accelerate and even pass people without much more than a haze.

I decided to take it to Diesel Truck Wars and run it in E.T. just to see what it would do. On the line, I couldn’t get it to spool any more than 11psi, so the 60’ suffered. The ET was slow at an 8.9, but it pulled the top end at 91mph which surprised the crap out of me.

On the second pass, things went very similar, except on the 2-3 shift there was a loud pop. Not sure what happened. Turbo is fine, boots are fine, head gasket is fine....idk. I tried to make a third pass and it did the same thing. So I just quit while I was ahead. I’d rather get it fixed than keep beating on it and tear something up.

Here are some pics from DTW

I got tired of polishing the MPD valve cover...so when Kingspeed released their black/milled cover I jumped on it. I definitely think it looks much better!

After truck wars I decided to go ahead and pull the truck back off of the road and get started on the winter projects early. I pulled out a bunch of the suspension and some engine parts for powder. I ordered a set of caltracs and got those, along with the coils, shock brackets, and battery box, all powdered Illusion Purple to match everything else.

Nah, that’s Tim’s...it was stock at the time, but since then it’s had a little bit of work done to it

I also decided to copy another of JPs ideas and got a 4wd powerstroke valance and fitted it to the stock bumper. It wasn’t too big of a deal and the finished product turned out pretty good.

While I was waiting on powder, I went ahead and ordered some more fueling to go with all of the air. I ended up settling on a set of 250% Exergy injectors and 6.7 feed tubes.

While in my quest to shed weight without taking away from it still being a street truck, I pulled the front bumper, removed the steel supports, and fabbed up some aluminum brackets to mount the bumper using a set of Quick Latches.

Got the caltracs installed.... I’ll never try to do that again without a torch. That makes the job 100x easier!
