take transmission off to change turbo?

I have a subscription to Alldata for 2008 LMM and it shows 14hours to change the turbo and the transmission needs to come out to do so. After looking around I see some various opinions. Any solid yes/no on the trans coming out and the 14hrs to swap turbo?

I changed one in the garage without touching the tranny. It didn't take too long. Some of the bolts are a pain

that's the most common thing I was seeing is no transmission removal. I'm not very pleased with some of the information I'm getting from that program.

If you have a lift take the cab off. If not Jack the body up a few inches. The up pipe bolts are mother's! No transmission does not have to come out, they say that for ease of getting to the up pipe bolts and the down pipe. It all can be done without lifting the cab, but much easier with the cab up or off. If you live in a rust area I wish you the very best, we decided stainless bolts were a good idea. Drilling the broken ones out will kill some of your nicest drill bits.

14 hours is the correct time, you can be the decider on what to charge the customer.

I bet I had less then 4 hours, the truck had an add a turbo kit, so no down pipe I guess.
