He's scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Been called out by numerous people with the same or similar issue. Wonder what they would do if I came and threw this phucking turbo through their front door. I'm tired of the bullchit and apparently so are these other "former" customers. You'll never get a dime from me again.

The big guy taking from the little guy. It's the way of the world. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Check out their "short throw shifters"

They all have the same casting flaw, they all break in the same place... You break it and get told to eat it cuz of abuse...

Same thing happend to me! Bought it from BD, a month later putting the truck into reverse it snapped and the shifter fell to the floor. Called BD to get it replaced, and said it would cost 175 for a new shift arm. Waste of time an money!

You'd be amazed at the amount of turbo's they sell. Not taking sides either way, but you sell that many turbo's and you're bound to have some failures.

I've had one break on a customers truck, and they next day air'd him a new one

Again, not trying to take sides whatsoever, but i've had the opposite service from BD as what is portrayed here.

We have had nothing but the same experiences in dealing BD. Great company to deal with.

You run a shop....

The average guy walkiin thru the door in vancouver gets a chimney full of smoke blown up there ass, then when **** breaks they get fed even more bull****....

You have no idea how close i was to tossing that 47re @ the front counter deuche, chugging a bottle of expax and doing a run thru and ****ting on everything near by.....

LOL crazy Canadians...

I'm really getting tired of everyone crying about not prelubing the turbo causing it to fail. I personally do prelube the turbo just for peace of mind. However, I spent over 7 years of my career in a truck engine shop where I watched other technicians slap on hundreds of turbos without prelubing them and barely getting the engine warm before holding it wide open on the dyno and NONE of them failed because they weren't prelubed. The whole thing is a flat out excuse to get out of paying warranty.

Exactly. This is what I'm getting at too. The truck shop I worked at, before I hired on at Cummins, had "technicians" that did the same thing. Never pre lubed. Just slapped them on and sent the customer on their way.

I'm going to make it a point not to piss this guy off. LOL He said this a couple years ago. LOL

i think i'd hunt down a manufacturer and leave a conveniently placed dump on his hood.

possibley followed by chugging a bottle of exlax, throwing that piston and connecting rod through the front window of his shop, then do a naked run thru sh!tting on everything and everyone before hopping into a getaway vehicle all the while flipping the bird and screaming obscenities

Following this thread, I must point out We sell a lot of these and other Turbo chargers without issue. When a warranty issue arises that is the Direct result of our manufacturing defect we honor our warrantee obligation. Unfortunately, the internet and forums can be one sided and misleading of the actual/all facts. Does manufacturing errors occur? Yes, they do from time to time. However these turbo chargers are not built one at a time, they are done in volume. Normal process would indicate that if it was a manufacturing issue many within that production run would have an issue. We do not have excessive failures occurring as some would try and make it appear.

Unfortunately, in regards to our customer service or lack of as some would put it. We are working diligently to correct our weak points, we know employee vacation schedules, affect our call in or inspection and production response times. We are and continue to add, promote, and train to help rectify these issue, we do strive to satisfy our customer’s needs, it is input such as this that will make us a better company for all in the future.

The fact is the failure analysis was performed in accordance to every Turbo manufactures instructions. The analysis of the failed Turbo was a result of a lubrication issue.

You clearly state that if you ever made a mistake you would be the first to admit it.

You missed damage to the wastegate excited or not that is a mistake and you admitted it.

Quote:
“Hmmm...
I apologize that my truck had been down for literally 2 weeks and the turbo was installed after I got off work around 3 am. That is no excuse for missing that I know but people make mistakes and I reckon this one is going to come back and bite me in the a$$.”

Quote:
“That is correct. As I stated earlier, it was about 4 in the morning after I got off work. I was excited to get the truck back up and running because it has sat for 2 weeks. Understandable right? Plus, it was a brand new turbo. You don't really expect something like that to happen. Though, now I will be sure to check the damn thing meticulously.”

Working a graveyard shift and starting a project like this at 4am plus being excited to get everything all back together after your truck has been down for day’s/weeks, has the potential for disastrous out comes. This is evident by your quotes:

I find it difficult to think that if you missed as much as you did as mentioned above that you could not have inadvertently missed a supply/prelube issue. Or the fact the truck sat for weeks and all the oil has drained back to the pan as well.

Regardless you have stated your opinion, our offer still stands that even though this is not a Warrantable failure we will offer you a replacement turbo at cost.

Regards,
Hector

How can you blame it on oil supply by saying its because the truck was sitting? My truck sat 4 months waiting on a tranny, it fired right up and no issues! With your therory you're saying my turbo should have no oil and trashed itself! correct me if im wrong!!

Ill say regardless of the warranty being given or denied, I'll never, solely on your attitude toward the customer, buy or push a bd product again.
