Torque converter question

Hi all, new to this site and there’s lots of great info. I have a question with a torque converter and not the most knowledgeable about transmission stuff. My question is I have a built 47rh going back in a 94 12 valve, but need a torque converter. I have access to a 48re converter that I would like to use. Can it be swapped straight in or not? I’ve hear stuff about having to change the stator over for the sealing ring, but is that required?

It should work without a problem. If you put a 47re converter on a 48re, there is a seal that can cause problems.
