ive had the build thread on the cummins forum but now that the motors almost finished up and ready t drop in and start tuning, i figured id post the build up in here to see if i can get some more help and ideas!
Its time for the beast to get a rebuild. I got water in my fuel, hung open and injector and took out a piston. bittersweet but just cant wait to get this thing back on the road. Plan to build the motor to handle around 800hp even tho air wise ill prolly be around 600ish. building the truck to be a reliable daily driver/ weekend warrior that'll see local dynos and drags and still be able to handle more when i wanna crank it up later. motors at the machine shop, looks like a .020 bore with clean it up, cylinder head is TOAST ( anyone got a good 2nd gen 12 valve head???) crank was fine. now for the good stuff!!!
What the truck currently has:
- new era 150hp injectors (5x.014 vcos?)
-laser cut DV's
-4kgov
-AFC full rack
-marine gasket
-3piece manifold
-60lb springs
12mm headstuds (need replacing)
-160 ppump
-htt 62-71-13
Plans for the motor:
FUEL FILTRATION
-5x18 injectors from manning
-balanced rotating assembly
-14mm main studs
-girdle
-shot peened/polished
-rod bolts
-oringed head
-chromoly retainers/keepers
-oversized stainless steel valves
-170lb springs (manning motorsports)
-manning motorsports pushrods
-manning motorsports 194-220 camshaft
-billet tappet cover
-fluidamper
-dtt assassin lift pump
and then ill be doing some little stuff during the down time like paiting the engine bay, buildint a fuel filtration setup and dual feeding the injection pump. any and all ideas welcomed! lets hear what you guys have done!

havnt posted on here in awhile...been busy with work and just went back to school. alittle update....all parts are in and everything is at the machine shop. had some troubles with the girdle kit i ordered so thats getting sent back out and hopefully ill get all my money back and then ill be ordering a gorilla girdle kit. ended up getting a fluidamper 5x18 injectors and dual electric fans then all the little stuff that adds up and is still adding up haha sent my turbo out to taylor maning to get inspected and get it machined out to fit a billet 63mm wheel so itll end up as a billet 63/71/13ss but well have.
so there hasnt been much progress made as i was out of state in nevada for a week and ive just been waiting to get the motor back so i can finish her up. i should have the motor back next week tho and then i can start working on the truck again. turbo should be in next week aswell from taylor manning, and then i got a billet tappet cover and my pump back awhile ago from poncci and he ended up flowing the lil ol 160pump out at 456cc and added 2095 rack plug and i got rid of the full cuts for some 181dv's i had and a plate for tuning. unfortunately im gonna have to wait and see about my tranny. i got a good quote of around 2 grand including parts and labor for rebuilding my tranny but im not sure what i wanna do. thinking about going manual valve body seeing as i already have a ratchet shifter and i think it would be fun...and input?
I ended up towing the truck over to my buddies house so i dont have to put the motor back in in the gravel, and have some more tools. it was a pain to get it up on the trailer and the trailer was alittle skinny for the 37x13.5's and a dually width rear axle, but we made it work lol we had a little 800lb (yes 800lb no typo) winch that was struggling but didnt snap the cable or burn it up.
