T4 flange...never done much hot rodding, but I'll tell you this about an old 7080...the engine is maxed out the way it is...new, we had some we had to re-ring at 2000hrs, and many an '80 has chucked a rod bone stock.

Of course, when they're running good, there's not much 2wd that can touch them...but they were just cranking that engine too hard to get reliability from them.

Swapping something else on wouldn't be too hard, although I wouldn't know what to suggest...you'd have to fabricate some for the exhaust, and oil lines, and probably the intake connection as well...but it's just a tractor right

I can get you a price on a new (reman) if you want, though

I was wonderin about cutting the rpms back a little i think that would help out alot with reliability. If it gives me to much trouble ill just do the swap but im kinda partial to the allis engines.. but cummins is far better economy and good power maybe put 30.5 32 duals and the clutches out of a 7580 ..

If you wouldnt mind checkin the price the exh housing isnt that great of shape but the pipe between the turbo and elbow is shot. so if i could get it seperate or maybe i should just get the whole exh housing also or the whole turbo but i guess depends on whats available and how much $..

Thanks Matt

Combine engine will have different oil filters and oil cooler...with it being a 7080, I'd say it threw a rod, and got a new engine

Turning the RPM down to about 23-2400RPM would help a lot...that 2750RPM crap is what kills them.

Also, a 7080 and 7580 have the same engine, and the clutches should all be the same as well...not worth the upgrade I wouldn't put 30.5 duals back there unless you don't want to pull anything...way too much tire for a 2wd, not enough weight A good 20.8-38, or even 20.8-34 is plenty of tire for a 7080...add weight to suit.

Reman charger is $800, I'll look up the diffuser...how is the exhaust elbow?

Diffuser is $100, elbow from there to muffler is $250...if you need both, I could look and see if I have a used one.

I also have a reman charger in stock I suppose I could take apart and measure up...might be able to come up with a different option if you're into fabbing something else on there...maybe a Schwitzer or Holset off something newer??

Let me know if I can help!

Thanks for the prices. Im gona make sure i dont have anything layin around that i can use if not ill get with ya and get a diffuser maybe the whole thing. I will see how bad it looks maybe in a day or two when i get some time.

The 7580 has more clutch discs in the power director has 5 high and 3 low where the 7580 only has 3 high and 2 on the low side.. I have not taken both apart to verify but thats what ive been told.. My high side seems to slip a little so i guess i will see if thats true or not when i split it. Thanks again for the help.

Depending on your serial number, you have the same Power Director as the 7580...5 high, 3 low...unless your serial is lower than 3210, you have the heavier clutch. Problem with going to the heavier clutch is the whole housing is different, along with the piston and some other parts. If you really want to do it, let me know, I can give answer any questions you might have.

Been working on these tractors a long time...Grandpa started selling AC in 1948

if its a 82 engine in it it possibly has the hardened west german crank in it, made the 426 more reliable, ive heard them surving in the bottom end of a 4 charger superstock
