Promoter USA-EAST
The RULES meeting for the Open 2.6 Diesel 4x4 class with USA-EAST will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Hampton Inn of Sharon/Hermitage located south of Interstate 80 at Exit #4 (just four miles from the Ohio state line). The Hampton Inn is located on the hill behind the Super Eight hotel.

All pullers are welcome, however the discussion will be limited to current USA-EAST members. If you have suggestions or comments or ideas on the class for 2015 please attend the meeting.

Over 15 USA-EAST member trucks from the Open 2.6 Diesel class gathered at the Hampton Inn in Hermitage, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night to discuss the rules for the class for 2015.

Some of the highlights of the meeting were:

* Class will be called Super Street Diesel (2.6) in 2015 in order to differentiate between the new 8500 Work Stock (2.5) class that will begin next season.
* There are no changes to the current turbo charger rule for 2015.
* There are no changes to current wheelbase rule for 2015.
* Rear brakes will no longer be required in the class.
* Batteries and Fuel Cells will be permitted in front of the radiator core.
* Interiors may be removed in order to bring USA-EAST rules in line with Central Ohio Truck rules

The goal was to attempt to make USA-EAST rules as inclusive as possible. These rules are designed to allow all trucks the opportunity to compete with USA-EAST in 2015. This is merely some the changes that were discussed and is by no means the final rule product. Complete rules will be posted on our web site in the near future.

Agreed

Negative ghost Ryder! No shocks or leafs, gasier said these are pulling trucks!
Some of them are anyhow......On the bright side of the turbo rule. You can go ahead and get one of the big turbos everyone had to buy to catch ya. Then they all be 20' back again!Lol!

Will it still be legal to put the 2.6 bore out at the velocity stack that sticks through the grille instead of it being at the wheel??

If you could figure out how to weld all that to your compressor housing and get an air shutoff in there go for it, other wise that's a removable bushing...no bueno

We have all heard thru the grapevine that in fact this is what goes on. Has anyone ever, in person put a direct eyeball on it to confirm? Or is this a case of someone thinking this because they got their nuts kicked in?

Not quite to the extent described above but not to far off. I'd say the .most I have seen is 3" from bore to wheel.

Turbocharger: The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; the inducer bore on the
compressor housing may be 2.6”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.65-inch plug or internal calipers. Bushing from any larger turbo size down to a 2.6 turbo is PROHIBITED. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. 6.4 liter Powerstroke engines may utilize the factory twin-turbo configuration.

Rule states bore be in the compressor housing!! Me confused how they can have bore 3-4 inches from wheel and be legal? Or is it all bunch shhhhhhh--- shhhhhhhnaagains?
