Right hand feed and breather issues/questions

I have a 99 that's got a Farrel 215 pump on it. We're having issues with it pushing oil out the afc housing by the shutdown solenoid. After talking with Seth he wants me to send it in for new gaskets and move the feed to the passenger side.

He said it's doable with a tight radius 90 fitting. I was wondering if anyone on here had done this that has some pictures or even part numbers would be awesome.

Next issue is I'm running the stock breather that pushes a lot of oil out of it. I'm assuming because it's returning too much oil. Did they make a cap to just cap that hole off? I have a 12v tappet I was hopping that would be enough to vent it.

Full specs on motor
358/475 compounds
7x14s
Colt stg 4 cam
Farrel 600cc 215 pump

I have fuel plate pulled back runs about 75 psi on the street and 35 out of the 75. Motor has 1500 miles on a stock rebuild. Clevite rings and bearings. Stock bore.

I've made a banjo fitting to do it on the passenger side, but it's unpleasant. I changed it to a restricted driver side fitting and mine has been fine.

Pump was bought new from Seth. I hate to say but I honestly didn't even check the fitting I trust his work. I bought this trick with a cracked block and the timing case bolts literally screwed out with my fingers so needless to say I couldn't tell where the oil was coming from everywhere and a mess lol.

What are you guys doing with your front breather? I'd like to delete it all together I hate the mess it makes.

Also Seth had said the restricted fitting still flows way too much oil and the passenger side feed has more restrictions down in the pump.

I work on the road but first thing I will do when I get home is double check that fitting but likely have to send it back because he said there's some gaskets it might have ruined.

I used a billet timing cover. I just put 8an fittings (what I had laying around) in my vc two weeks ago. Had a ton of oil control issue with them in the billet tappet cover. Seems to have been remedied by moving them.

I've seen a couple people use banjo bolts vs. the jic fittings for the oil feed.

So you have your tappet cover completely sealed off? I have a schieds cover on this and the gear cover has the threaded hole for the breather or oil fill. I guess I should contact them to see if they have one without the hole to make it clean as possible.

I've been thinking about welding two stand pipes in the valve cover and using the clamp on air filter style breathers and then either capping the tappet cover or running it to a catch can.

I absolutely hate having this nice of truck and having oil under it everywhere it's driving me insane lol.

Yes, I have Jesse's tappet cover with un-baffled breather holes. Huge mistake as it pours oil out. Before moving them I could fill a 2 quart catch can on one WOT run. Now.....I haven't drained it yet. Drove it 300 miles.

I just drilled and tapped the vc with 8an - npt fittings on the injector line side. Just deep enough to get a couple threads engaged but not so deep as to get into the rocker arms.

I'm having the same issue with my 13mm from Seth. Leaking oil from the same spot. After the pulling season I'll end up sending it back for new gaskets. He mentioned to me as well to try to feed oil on passenger side of pump too.

This is how I have my breather setup. Single 3/4 hose off the tappet cover and breathers in each valve cover.

That's the style I'd like to run in my valve cover. How are those attached and are they baffled?
Moroso sells a kit with a baffled tube and clamp on style filter like that I was thinking about ordering. I don't know how well that cover will weld but I see some guys have welded an fittings in for hoses

This is the only thing I've found so far for the right hand feed on a 24v. Kinda makes me nervous that its brass and the vibrations would cause it to break? Maybe I'm over thinking it

The oil feed line to the vacuum pump has a brass adapter.. I think you're good.

I tried that exact same thing and it still didn't fit I went the driver side oil feed and the restrictor... And I drilled and tapped the fuel pump plate and used that to run to a catch can... Whether it works good or not I'm not sure yet... All mine has done is idle so far.

Go get a fuel pump block off plate for either a small block or big block Chevy can't remember which one and use it to replace the factory fuel pump cover on the block. Thread it with a 3/4 pipe thread and get a 90* elbow and a piece of hose for a blow-by tube. Seal off the front cover completely. As for the pump. Driver side feed needs to be restricted. Passenger side is a complete pita and not worth the headache

Disturbed I'm running a 12 valve tappet and the stock 24v breather. My plans are to cap the front and put two breathers in my valve cover and then run the tappet to a catch can or just plug it off completely.

I've decided Saturday I'm pulling the pump to go out to Seth and try to figure out a feed for the right side. If it fixes the oil leak it's totally worth it to me. Also going to send the injectors to Weston for piece of mind.

The only issue I have with the breathers in the valve cover is they make a mess all over the top of the engine. They will slobber oil no matter what you do to stop it. Depending on boost and rpm one blow by tube may not be enough and cause you to have tappet gasket issues. With the breathers the blow by has to travel from the crank case all the way up through the engine to get to the breathers picking up oil vapors on its way. I always run 2 blow by tubes and never have an issue. Just 2 cents

I wondered that I had been trying to find an answer to that on the valve cover breather. I had left the oil cap loose once and it pushed a lot of oil out and I figured those breathers would do the same. That's reason I stayed with the stock tappet because it had some baffling and always fighting oil on the billet ones with just pipe thread fittings.

Truck sees 80 psi of boost and few 4K plus pulls.
