Cummins dealer / 12 valve question

Guys, I'm trying to buy a P7100 injection snout O-ring that seals against the case. The first seal came in a plastic bag with the part number written by hand. It was not the right seal. They reordered, next bag came in, had written part number on the bag, and the seal doesn't look the same as the one I pulled off. Mine is a square cut seal. Unless there's been an update, the seal I just bought won't work, it's a fully rounded O-ring seal.

I started to get a little hot in the store, as this is the second time i've had to come in. I asked them....when I order a genuine cummins seal, I expect it to come in a bag or box with the part number on it and unopened. They told me they can't always get parts from cummins like that. I said, how do I know if i'm buying the right part and if it's genuine? No response, they brushed it off.

Can anyone verify if part number 3969698 has been updated to a completely rounded seal? And the square cut seal is no longer required.

Thanks guys.

, no. That's what this cummins dealer used. I'm willing to spend the money for genuine parts that fit perfect the first time.

Okay, that would be a good reason.
