12 valve setup

I'm dropping a 12v out of a 94 dodge auto into a OBS ford to build a service truck/tow pig for the farm. I'm fairly new to this 12v stuff being that I'm a Powerstroke guy. As of now I plan on running a fleece 63mm cheetah, 4k springs, a schied adjustable fuel plate, airdog lift pump, and have schied advance the timing a bit. My question is what should I be lookin at for injectors, 5x.012 or .013s? And where is a good place to get em, and should I do delivery valve and if so what size? I want to make at least 400hp without being hot or too smokey. Thanks in advance

Get some 5x12s or 14s from Smokem (Weston) and keep the AFC and don't bother with the adjustable fuel plate. With those you lose the ability to control all your low end fuel. For your goals, delivery valves aren't necessary but you could also get those from smokem. The rest of your setup seems realistic for your power and work goals for the truck. Maybe add valve springs if you plan on using the 4K springs to their full potential

I'll look in to them. Also, should the stock headbolts be fine. The motor only has 90k on a schied rebuild

They might hold but being that its going to be under a load towing a lot with that turbo I would personally do studs for some cheap insurance. Take it from a guy who's been there, $400 for some studs is a lot cheaper than a new head and top end gasket set. And you don't even have to remove the head for the studs. Really easy to do

Is that fleece turbo a VGT?

I'll second what Stubz said. Leave the stock AFC, either cut or ditch the plate. If it has 131 DV's, you might need to upsize them. For a turbo, you could make 400 with a HE351 fairly easily. Use the stock lift pump. Studs are not required, but safe insurance. I ran stock bolts on both of my trucks until I went to twins. I always kept the timing fairly conservative though.

For 400hp, you really only need injectors and a mild turbo upgrade.

I did 518/907 with 131s in an unbenched 160 pump so they are plenty capable of your power goals. That was with a II Silver 64

No it's not vgt. It's just a hx35 with either a cast 60mm or a billet 63mm wheel in it

I like to pass this thread around. Will help give an idea on what people are running to make power.

Just talked with smokem. He doesn't have the 5x.012s anymore. Just 5x.014s. And I'm worried those may be too big. Any other alternatives?

With some stock DVs it should be good with 5x14

Bannon aren't you going to be sad when your work truck makes more power than that dang 6.0??

If they offer a cast 60mm hx35 I imagine it is some variation of an hx35/40 hybrid. That will get you to your goal but get kind of warm around 450 on a tow pig.

Good luck and call me if you need any pointers with tuning that AFC! The adjustable plate will be OK but you will probably get annoyed with constantly driving around the smoke and want your AFC back.

Get a BD super B. Great turbo, should pair up well and do 400HP.
